Department of Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Brunei Darussalam is inviting suitable candidates for position of

TRANSLATOR/INTERPRETER (English to Mandarin) for the Brunei Darussalam Pavilion in theWorld Exposition 2010 in Shanghai

• Successful candidates will be employed for the duration of 7 months only, from 1st April to 31st October 2010

• Successful candidates will be given a daily allowance of B$90.00, life insurance coverage, airfare economy class return ticket (Brunei-shanghai-Brunei) and accommodation during his/her stay in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:-

• To assist in the translation/interpretation;

• To assist and support the daily operation of the pavilion and any other tasks as required by the Floor Manager;

• To assist in the manning the pavilion;

• To assist in welcoming the visitors;

• To assist in overseeing the safety of visitors;

• To assist visitors with the exhibition and general enquiries;

• To work on a daily shift, or as when required by the Pavilion Manager.

Qualification required:

1. Citizen or Permanent Resident of Negara Brunei Darussalam.

2. Candidates must be not more than 40 years old.

3. Candidates must possess a minimum academic qualification of Higher National Diploma or equivalent.

4. Able to communicate in English and Mandarin.

5. Acquire good communication skills.

6. Well-verse knowledge about Brunei’s culture, tradition and values.

7. Dedication to work in the Brunei Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 for the duration of 7 months.
